Apple and MLB reveal ‘Friday Night Baseball’ September schedule in Apple Immersive
Apple has teamed up with Major League Baseball (MLB) to announce the September lineup for “Friday Night Baseball,” a weekly doubleheader available on Apple TV through the 2026 season. Subscribers in 60 countries and regions can watch two prominent games each Friday, complete with enhanced production quality and expert analysis, all without any local broadcast restrictions.
For the first time, fans can enjoy “Friday Night Baseball” in Apple Immersive using Apple Vision Pro, starting August 28. This immersive experience features 3D video in 8K, offering a 180-degree field of view. Viewers will get to see the famous Red Sox vs. Yankees rivalry with unique perspectives that bring them closer to the action, from at-bats to dugout celebrations and close plays.
The immersive broadcast will include commentary from Paul Severino, Xavier Scruggs, and Michelle Margaux, along with dedicated replays and team stats displayed in an interactive graphic package. During breaks, the broadcast remains live, offering a full stadium experience captured with Spatial Audio technology.
Apple Vision Pro users in select countries including the U.S., UK, and Canada can stream live games through the Apple TV app. The app also provides on-demand full-game replays and highlight packages.
Highlight games in September include a matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers on September 4, as the Guardians aim to stay in playoff contention. The Brewers face the Reds on September 11 in a battle for division glory, while the Padres take on the Giants in a National League wild card race. On September 18, the Phillies, with newcomer Luis Arráez and Bryce Harper, gear up against the Mets for the postseason.
The season’s finale features a classic rivalry as Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants, vying for their fifth straight division title.
The games feature commentary teams including Wayne Randazzo, Dontrelle Willis, Heidi Watney, Alex Faust, Ryan Spilborghs, and Tricia Whitaker. Pregame shows are hosted by Siera Santos, Eric Hosmer, and Russell Dorsey.
Fans in the U.S. and Canada can also listen to local radio broadcasts during the games. Produced by MLB Network’s award-winning team, the doubleheaders are in collaboration with Apple’s sports production, with Essilor presenting the first game each week.
