Get ready to see Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway ignite the screen for the very first time in Verity, a gripping psychological thriller adapted from Colleen Hoover’s celebrated novel. While their characters may not share much chit-chat in the film, Johnson assures us that off-camera, their chemistry was a delightful concoction of laughter, conversations, and impromptu hot dog feasts!
In a candid chat with Pinkvilla, Johnson gushed about her time with Hathaway, reflecting on the joy of working with an actress she’s long admired. “I’ve always been such a fan of hers, and I loved working with her so much,” Johnson shared, highlighting the close bond they nurtured during production.
Despite the limited dialogue between their characters on-screen, these two Hollywood icons found ample moments to connect between takes. “We don’t really say much to each other onscreen, but in between takes, we were always laughing, joking, and having deep life talks,” Johnson revealed, giving us a glimpse into their off-screen camaraderie. One unforgettable memory involved a surprise culinary delight. “Or eating hot dogs,” Johnson reminisced, recalling the day Hathaway brought a hot dog cart to the set. “She had it brought in one day, and it was great.” This playful moment perfectly encapsulates the relaxed atmosphere they maintained amidst the film’s tense scenes.
Dakota Johnson didn’t hold back in praising Hathaway’s prowess behind the camera either, emphasizing her dedication to excellence. “She’s an incredible producer, and she’s always game to make sure we get the best version of the scene possible,” Johnson applauded.
