FLEXJET FIRST TO RECEIVE EMBRAER PRAETOR 600E DELIVERY, INTRODUCING REVOLUTIONARY SMART WINDOW™ TECHNOLOGY
Cleveland, Sept. 18, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Flexjet, the global leader in luxury private aviation, announced today the first-ever customer delivery of the Praetor 600E from Embraer (NYSE: EMBJ). As the world’s first certified aircraft equipped with a fully operational Smart Window™, the super-midsize Praetor 600E offers Flexjet aircraft Owners a transformative cabin experience complemented by class-leading performance, range and comfort.
“This milestone delivery continues a success story we have had with Embraer that began back in 2003,” said Michael Silvestro, Flexjet’s Chief Executive Officer. “As the leader in luxury private aviation, fractional aircraft Owners look to Flexjet to provide access to the world’s most advanced aircraft. Embraer’s unwavering commitment to innovation, exemplified by the Praetor 600E, continues to deliver the breakthroughs that enable us not only to meet those expectations, but exceed them.”
Supported by Starlink Wi-Fi on all Flexjet Praetor 600Es, the innovative Smart Window™ incorporates a 42” 4K OLED touchscreen monitor that reimagines a portion of the aircraft’s interior sidewall as a multifunctional digital experience. Precisely curved to match the arc of the sidewall, it can serve as a virtual window, displaying one of three high-definition, real-time views of the outside environment.
For interactive meetings and video calls, the divan and two adjacent seats are neatly arranged around the Smart Window™, creating a collaborative boardroom-like experience. By cleanly integrating the display within the sidewall, the area remains completely open and clear, uncluttered by a credenza or television cabinet.
When the occasion calls for entertainment, the cabin can be transformed by reclining the seats and dimming the lights. Guests can gather around the screen for a stunningly immersive gaming or cinematic experience with balanced, studio-grade audio. For late night flights, occupants of the lie-flat seats can find restful sleep while enjoying a panoramic, real-time view of the stars and night sky beyond.
“Flexjet has been a trusted strategic partner for more than two decades, and together we share a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience through continuous innovation,” said Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. “The Praetor 600E represents the next generation of the private flight experience, combining industry-leading performance with transformative technologies like our Smart Window™ to create new possibilities for productivity, comfort, and connectivity in the air.”
As the fleet launch customer of the Praetor 600E super-midsize and Praetor 500E midsize private jets, Flexjet aircraft Owners will enjoy exclusive access to these groundbreaking aircraft. With the first Praetor 600E now delivered, Embraer and Flexjet expect Praetor 500E deliveries to begin later this year, and Flexjet is already taking delivery of Phenom 300E light jets. These deliveries are part of the landmark $7 billion agreement announced by Flexjet and Embraer in February 2025, which includes a firm order for 182 aircraft, options for an additional 30 and an expanded services and support package.
Beyond the remarkable Smart Window™ technology of the Praetor 600E, both the Praetor 600E and Praetor 500E incorporate an array of advancements that elevate the cabin experience and harmonize each occupant with their environment. Advanced seat design incorporates an ergonomic design, electric-assisted seat controls and seamless berthing to a lie-flat configuration. The award-winning Omni-Fi speakers and NICE4K audio system fills the cabin with rich audio and deep bass, while lighting, cabin climate and music can be controlled through an intuitive cabin management system and voice commands.
Both new models feature newly expanded headroom directly above each seating position. This effectively expands the upper half of the cabin, creating additional volume and space. An elegantly designed upper tech panel touchscreen interface provides simple adjustment of airflow and lighting, along with a live visual tracker displaying time to destination.
Flexjet has a history as being the fleet launch customer for five mainstay Embraer products – the Legacy Executive in 2003, the Phenom 300 in 2010, the Legacy 450 in 2016, the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 in 2019 and now the Praetor 500E and Praetor 600E in 2026. Flexjet has helped usher in key milestones with Embraer via the 100th Phenom 300 delivery in 2012 and the 1,000th Embraer business jet ever delivered, a Legacy 500, in 2016. These aircraft each have broken barriers in their respective classes with the Phenom 300 seeing its 14th consecutive year as the most delivered light business jet in the world. The Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 were both the first fly-by-wire aircraft for the Flexjet fleet, offering performance capabilities of larger aircraft with midsized economics.
“Flexjet’s aircraft Owner demographic has been trending younger and they want the cabin to become part of the experience. The Smart Window™ will be integral in enhancing the enjoyment of the in-cabin journey,” added Silvestro. “This technology is a perfect expression of our commitment to delivering the next generation of luxury private aviation today.”
