Google supports 16 green AI initiatives in Asia-Pacific
We have selected 16 organizations to participate in our inaugural Google DeepMind Accelerator: AI for the Planet (APAC) cohort. This initiative aims to assist these groups in scaling their AI-driven environmental solutions through expert mentorship and customized support.
The chosen organizations, which include startups, nonprofits, and research teams, are using our cutting-edge artificial intelligence models to address urgent environmental issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Their projects focus on areas such as biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, and carbon solutions. Over the course of the next three months, participants will benefit from expert guidance and technical support to enhance their solutions and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Google is committed to aiding 16 groups across the Asia-Pacific in utilizing AI to safeguard the environment. These teams are engaged in efforts like conserving wildlife, improving agricultural practices, and combating climate change. They will receive expert mentorship and access to advanced AI tools to help bring their ideas to fruition. The aim is to leverage technology to address significant environmental challenges.
The program began this week with a hands-on bootcamp in Singapore. It supports startups, nonprofits, and research teams in advancing their projects using frontier AI models such as AnthroKrishi, ForestCast, AlphaEarth Foundations, SpeciesNet, and Perch. These models are designed to tackle pressing environmental issues.
Throughout the program, the organizations will gain access to the latest Google AI technology, including specialized frontier models, along with tailored support and mentorship from our experts. This presents a unique opportunity for participants to navigate technical complexities and scale the next generation of solutions to benefit our planet. We are excited to see how they will develop, deploy, and expand AI applications to meet environmental challenges in the Asia-Pacific region.
