Samsung Art TV and Art Basel 2026: Integrating Digital Curation with Domestic Spaces
Each June, Basel, Switzerland becomes a focal point for the global art community, as Art Basel hosts its flagship fair, attracting leading galleries, artists, collectors, and institutions to Messe Basel and various cultural locations throughout the city.
From June 18 to 21, 2026, this year’s fair featured 290 galleries from 43 countries and territories, showcasing works that span historical foundations to cutting-edge contemporary and digital practices. As the Official Art TV provider for Art Basel, Samsung Electronics demonstrated how its Art Store can transform art discovered at the fair into everyday home experiences through specially designed screens.
Elevating Personal Aesthetic with Samsung Art Store
Samsung Art Store, a digital art platform available on Samsung Art TVs, allows users to explore curated works from renowned museums, galleries, and artists. At Art Basel in Basel (ABB), the Samsung Art Store Lounge translated this digital experience into a physical exhibition, illustrating how digital curation can personalize art discovery.
Visitors began their experience by completing a survey that identified their art preferences, which were then matched to one of four curated themes: Geometric, Surreal, Vibrant, or Painterly. The Art Wall, comprising Micro RGB, OLED, The Frame Pro, and The Frame displays from Samsung’s 2026 Art TV lineup, showcased artwork matching each visitor’s theme.
Introducing the ABB 2026 Collection
During the exhibition, the Art Wall also highlighted Basel’s artistic identity through Samsung’s new ABB 2026 Collection, curated exclusively for the Samsung Art Store. This collection features 24 works by Swiss and Swiss-based artists from eight galleries, offering a regional perspective on Basel’s diverse artistic landscape.
Innovative Collaborations with Daniel Arsham
As Samsung’s 2026 Art TV Ambassador, visual artist Daniel Arsham introduced a custom bezel for The Frame Pro, blending his concept of ‘fictional archaeology’ with television design. Arsham’s bezel, made from stone-like material, is inspired by topographical maps and erosion patterns, offering viewers an immersive experience around the screen.
Arsham engaged with art enthusiasts during a book signing at the Samsung Art Store Lounge on June 17, providing insights into his artistic process and collaboration with Samsung Art TV.
Art Night with Samsung Art TV: A Dialogue on Art and Personal Spaces
Samsung’s presence at Art Basel extended to a special event, ‘Art Night with Samsung Art TV,’ held at Gare du Nord. The event featured a panel discussion on integrating art into everyday spaces and the role of Samsung Art TV in bringing curatorial expertise into the home. Panelists included Daniel Arsham, Karim Crippa, Director of Art Basel Paris, and Daria Greene, Head of Content and Curation for Samsung Art Store.
The conversation emphasized that art can seamlessly integrate into domestic environments without losing its essence, allowing individuals to engage with art on a daily basis.
Expanding Artistic Access with Samsung Art TV
Samsung Art Store offers access to over 5,000 4K artworks from more than 800 artists and 80 partners in a single subscription service. Available across Samsung’s 2026 Art TV lineup, the platform delivers museum and gallery-quality works directly to consumers’ homes. The Art Basel in Basel 2026 Collection is accessible to Samsung Art TV users through the Samsung Art Store.
In Basel, Samsung Art TV showcased the future of home-integrated art, where collections evolve with personal curation, continuous discoveries, and the rhythms of daily life.
