Samsung Integrates Design and Technology at Seoul Design Week 2026

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its exhibition titled “Design is an Act of Love” at the Seoul Design Week 2026, held in Seoul, Korea. This exhibition showcases the interplay between art and technology through 14 artworks that draw inspiration from Samsung’s product lineup.

Innovative Use of OLED Technology

The exhibition prominently features the 2026 OLED TVs (model: S95H), each equipped with customized frames that enhance the visual appeal of the artworks. This initiative aligns with the company’s ongoing efforts to integrate design with technology, as seen in its previous exhibition at Design Miami Seoul 2026.

Collaboration with Emerging Artists

Collaborating with POLI.design and emerging Italian artists, the exhibition underscores Samsung’s commitment to fostering creative expression across diverse cultures. It celebrates the convergence of art and technology, reflecting Samsung’s vision of incorporating a human-centric approach in its design philosophy.

Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, remarked, “Through reinterpretation by different creative minds, familiar products become new expressions of individuality and perspective. Our goal is to evolve from designing technology for users to creating technology that mirrors their identity.”

Artistic Interpretations of Samsung Products

Fourteen Italian artists have reimagined Samsung products, including mobile devices, home appliances, and televisions such as the Music Studio 5, Bespoke AI Family Hub, and Galaxy Z Fold8. Utilizing AI tools, artists explored novel forms of expression, with each piece reflecting the uniqueness of the artist’s vision.

Among the featured artists, Tommy Tokyo, known for his work in virtual reality, animation, and digital media, created an artwork inspired by Samsung’s Infinite AI air purifier. Similarly, Caffè Design focused on The Serif TV’s distinctive I-shaped silhouette, examining its interaction with its surrounding environment.

Customized OLED TV Frames

The exhibition presents 14 Samsung OLED TVs (model S95H), each adorned with a bespoke frame that accentuates the colors and mood of the corresponding artwork. These frames, designed specifically for the exhibition, work in tandem with the Float Layer Design of the OLED TVs, which gives the impression of the screen floating above a metal plate.

Attendees at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, where the exhibition runs from October 15-25, can experience the Expressive Design concept, which embraces human diversity and creativity through the dynamic presentation of art and technology on the same TV model.
